Experiment 04

Content Assist

Take something your client has already created and turn it into useful content pieces in her voice.

Content support15–20 min

This experiment isn't about being a content strategy expert. You're testing whether you enjoy finding the useful idea inside someone else's thoughts.

Then you'll shape that idea into content that still sounds like the person who said it.

Headphones on. Notes open.

Brooke · Family photographer

Voice note: 1 new

Her work
Brooke is a family photographer. She's great at talking naturally with her clients and explaining things in person.
Where she gets stuck
When it's time to turn those thoughts into actual social-media content, she tends to get stuck.
How she works with you
She often sends you voice notes when an idea hits her and asks you to help turn them into something she can use.

Brooke

Voice note transcript

“Okay I'm driving home from a session and wanted to send this before I forget lol. The mom tonight kept apologizing because her toddler would NOT sit still and I kept telling her that is completely normal. Like genuinely, some of my favorite pictures are the ones where the kids aren't even looking at me. They're running or laughing or climbing on Dad or whatever.

I think parents put so much pressure on themselves before family pictures because they think their kids have to behave perfectly for us to get good photos and they really don't. I'd much rather let them play and get everybody comfortable than spend the whole session telling a three year old to sit down and smile 😂

Anyway I feel like there's probably a post in there somewhere because I tell moms this all the time.”

Oh, there's definitely a post in there somewhere.

Find the message

What's Brooke actually trying to say?

Brooke gave you plenty of words, but you don't have to use all of them.

Before you write anything, pull out the ONE main message you think she wants parents to walk away with.

Your note saves on this device. There isn't one correct answer.

Brooke’s voice guide

Brooke's Voice Guide

Brooke sounds like

  • Warm
  • Relaxed
  • Reassuring

  • Like she’s talking directly to another mom

Brooke does not sound like

  • Corporate
  • Overly polished
  • Pushy
  • Salesy
  • Like generic marketing copy

Your job isn't to make Brooke sound like you. It's to help Brooke sound more like Brooke.

Station 05 · Your assignment

Your Content Desk

“Can you turn that into a Facebook post for me? I want it to still sound like me, not super polished or salesy. And can you give me a short hook I could put over a Reel too?”

Same idea. Smaller space.

Both drafts save on this device so you can step away and come back.

Station 06

One idea, more than one use

Could Brooke use this idea somewhere else too?

One good client thought doesn't always have to become one piece of content.

Where else could you see Brooke using this idea?

This is a choice, not a test.

Station 07

Before you see mine

Before you see mine…

Finish Brooke's Facebook post and Reel hook first. Yours doesn't need to sound exactly like mine, that would actually defeat the point.
